I will overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-bout match which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the pair came face-to-face to publicize next month's heavyweight fight.

Former two-time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge mismatch - at Miami's venue on December 19th.

Boxer's Mindset

"I will break his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I will really want to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually famous for his theatrics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul rather criticized former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou rejected a match opportunity.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, targeted UK opponent Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer said.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Financial Success

Still, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of the sport's greatest money-making draws, regularly earning massive earnings.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old anticipated a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would stop the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Paul declared.

Size Disparity

As the two fighters engaged in the customary face-off, with their physical disparity evident, it highlighted just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is actually going ahead.
